Just downloaded and started playing this mod and found it to be quite a treat. Naturally I wanted to load and try it on my new laptop; which as you guessed has Vista as an OS.

After some tinkering and an install, uninstall and install again I finally found this to work:

Windows Defender - Disable it

Windows One Care - I took it off and use other Anti virus, antispyware, and firewall products

and finally I found that the only way which I could run the mod, was by having the ACFB disk installed. Trying to use DMCR Icon would not work (works fine on my desk top running XP of course).

I hope this helps and if anyone can add to it I would appreciate it.

Instruction that can be found on the hawks site:

Cheesy:

right click on the dmcr file in the ew folder and go to properties

set to run in administration mode and windows xp compatability and apply

then try and run the game
